Sticking a Pin in the Grand National
Wednesday 6th April 2016

Grand National day is historically the biggest betting day of the year, a time when otherwise risk averse humans can be spotted venturing into their nearest bookies to place a bet on the nag that their nephew said was "a good thing" for the big race.

Grand National

'Risk averse' is a description of a punter who, when faced with two actions with a similar expected return (but different risks), will prefer the one with the lower risk.

Given that finding the Grand National winner is probably the most difficult task in the betting year, it makes little sense that we should turn out in our droves to hand over our hard earned dosh to a bookie.

It would make much more sense to stay on our sofas and search for a nice friendly casino website on www.top5onlinecasino.ca and while away the hours with a wide choice of casino games that could give you much more bang for your buck.

You can study the form of the Grand National field for hours on end but you may be better off just sticking a pin in the paper to pick one of the 40 runners to bet on.

The Crabbie's Grand National 2016 takes place at Aintree this weekend - going off at 5.15 pm on Saturday April 9 .

Live coverage of the race will be screened by Channel 4 in the UK, and attracts an audience of millions across the world.
