Tanya's Blog - 5th November 2010
Is it still Halloween? Flicking between the two Sky Sports Channels covering cricket I manage to catch sight of the debacle that is Australia and Michael Clarke’s lame attempt at claiming a guaranteed run out, but it turned into a shambles as he managed to mess it up – amateurish, a horror story!!! I can’t watch and at times I’m almost having to cower behind the sofa. It’s laughable. It’s now 8am and rain has saved any more embarrassment at present.
In contrast the Kiwis bowling attack has arrived, albeit a day too late, but they have changed the complexion of the game in that they are not going to lose by so far now. No sooner have I commended the Kiwi bowlers that they are now offering underarms to the tailenders, what’s happening.
Back to the blog and tomorrow’s Daily Record column, I’m too easily distracted by the cricket. The paper boy is a late arrival today, I wonder if he is coming at all, so I’m off to the newsagent in a minute.
Richard Hughes has managed to scramble three rides against Paul Hanagan’s 11, it could be all over by this evening. Congratulations to Jason Maguire who returned with a brace, you’ve been missed young man.
After he came through to win for the blog last week I will have to go for Panzer again, especially as the trainer record is so good at Fontwell at present, he runs at 2.20. If you are nearby to Fontwell, head down there it is a big charity day in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, plus it’s a chance to see A P McCoy and Richard Johnson. I know I will be siding with a couple of AP’s mounts in Another Trump at 2.50 and Amuse Me but the prices aren’t great – sorry.
Great news, HEXHAM GOES AHEAD.
I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at Cheltenham next week, especially Sunday as I’m hopefully going to flag up a few winners to those who belong to the members’ club. I’ll also be signing and selling the Greyhound Girls calendar over the three days, all in aid of the Retired Greyhound Trust.
Ann Duffield has had three winners from her last eight runners
According to Signposts, page 24 of your Racing Post Donald McCain has had three winners from his last four runners at Fontwell
Saeed Bin Suroor runners are certainly worth keeping on your side, check out his record at both Southwell and Wolverhampton both over 30%
Ted Durcan has some plum rides for Goldophin over the next couple of days and he has a 33% strike rate at Southwell. I think Moderya will go close tomorrow at Doncaster
Lucky Punt goes for his seventh win in ten starts at Southwell at 2.30
