Captain Cee Bee to Gatecrash Champion Chase Party
03/05/11

The two rivals go head to head once again at Punchestown this afternoon in the Champion Chase. Colm Murphy and Barry Geraghty will be looking for revenge after having to settle for runner up spot in the Queen Mother at Cheltenham in March.

Sizing Europe

This race contains the first four home from the Cheltenham race with Golden Silver and Captain Cee Bee also in attendance. The last time Willie Mullins Golden Silver faced these rivals over this course back in January, he beat Big Zeb half a length into second with Sizing Europe 7 further lengths back in third, so he can not be discounted in what may will see as a two horse race.

Big Zeb and Sizing Europe are around joint 15/8 favourites for the race, the positive being that Big Zeb has been the one for money and shortening whilst Europe has drifted to the price. Golden Silver and Captain Cee Bee also share a price at around 5/1.

Both Mullins and Henry De Bromhead have second runners in the race, J'y Vole and Changing Course are available at 14/1 and 2001 respectively if you fancy an upset.

This race is the highlight of the card and on the day, I don't think it will disappoint. Captain Cee Bee is unbeaten over this course in three outings and is still improving over fences, his Queen Mother Champion Chase run, a personal best. We could have a very exciting finish on our hands, and Valuechecker thinks the 5/1 for the Harty runner is the value of the line up.

Recommendation: Captain Cee Bee @ 5/1
