Grand National-winning jockey Liam Treadwell believes Aso could go a long way after the five-year-old took the win in convincing fashion.

Aso (6-4 favourite) and Kiama Bay were at the head of affairs throughout in this Grade Two heat, registered as the Rossington Main Novices' Hurdle, and none of their four rivals could get in a blow.

The Venetia Williams-trained Aso stamped his authority on proceedings approaching the final flight and kept on strongly to beat Kiama Bay by four and a half lengths.

Treadwell said: "He jumped smashing for me. We quickened turning in on that ground and he galloped powerfully to the line.

"The stronger the company, the better this horse will be. If they go a good gallop he'd drop his head sooner. He's got a lot of attributes. He can travel strongly, regardless of the gallop, and he's very neat at his obstacles."
