Group race targets are likely to enter the equation for Zhui Feng following his decisive success in the £200,000 Tattersalls Millions Median Auction Trophy at Newmarket.

Having created a favourable impression when losing his maiden tag at Kempton last time out, the Amanda Perrett-trained two-year-old showed he is a horse of considerable potential when quickening smartly to claim the six-furlong prize.

Despite not getting the run of the race in front as on his previous start, it failed to deter the handily-ridden 6-1 chance with him running out a convincing length-and-a-quarter winner to complete the second leg of a double for rider Tom Queally.

John Connolly, part-owner, said: "We had every expectation of coming here and going well and the betting got it wrong again.

"We will see what Amanda (Perrett) says, but you can do no better than what he has done so far. It is our best ever season and as a two-year-old, he is the best I've ever owned.

"He is in the Dewhurst but that is over seven furlongs so we will wait and see whether he goes for that.

"He should get a mile. I'd like to think he could come back here for the Guineas."
