In 2002 Neil King purchased the Middle and Lower yards at St Gatien Stables, Newmarket. The Jockey Club granted him his Trainer's Licence in August 2003. Although he intends to concentrate his efforts on the National Hunt side of racing, he also enjoys having runners on the Flat. St Gatien Stables were built in the late 1880’s by the famous Bob Sherwood Sr who trained St Gatien to win the Derby in 1884.

The magnificent setting of Kings Ride, is now home to the successful race horse trainer and former jockey, John Jenkins. This impressive site contains all the features required of a modern racehorse training establishment. Two all weather gallops, an indoor school for bad weather, horse walker and a well laid out schooling ground.
