Mad Irishman Paddy Power is paying five places on the Grand National and pay ¼ odds too, so Valuechecker has come up with a list of five runners to consider to fill those places. Check the best odds tables though, other firms may have bigger prices.

Trained by Ferdy Murphy ridden by Graham Lee, 4th in this race last year and 6th in 2009, he put in a career best performance at Ascot in February and looks on course for another big run in the Grand National.

Trained by Willie Mullins, ridden by D J Casey. Arbour Supreme finished only 1 length down on Midnight Club at Fairyhouse last time out. That was from level weights, whilst today Arbour will receive ten pounds from the race favourite. That makes him a serious contender for a place f getting round, he fell at the Chair last year.
VIC VENTURI
I have already advised this one from D T Hughes. He is a trendy horse. Fitting many of the trends required to win the Grand National. Was brought down in last years race, but has won over these fences previously in the Becher Chase in 2009
COMPLY OR DIE
This 12yo bay Gelding needs no introduction, He gave David Pipe his first, and only to date Grand National winner when taking up the running two out and staying on strongly to win the 2008 race. In 2009 when trying to emulate Red Rum, he was denied only by 100/1 shocker Mon Nome. He raced again last year but from a mark of 153 found it too tough finishing 12th. Back to 144 for today's race another with claims.
SURFACE TO AIR
What an achievement this would be for trainer Chris Bealby. He has a chance based on what he has done over fences thus far, beaten only once in four outings. The only doubt is the National requires a fairly experienced runner to out. With only four chase runs under his belt, he is unexposed and winning will be tough but a clear round could see him place. 66/1 Paddy, 150/1 Ladbrokes
