Bould Mover Among 32 for Investec Entrepreneurial Class Dash
20/05/10

Roger Curtis is hoping Bould Mover (9st 6lb) can take in the £75,000 Investec Entrepreneurial Class ‘Dash’ at Epsom Downs on Investec Derby Day, Saturday, June 5, before returning to Pattern company later in the season.

The three-year-old, one of 32 remaining entries after yesterday’s scratchings stage, heads to the world’s fastest five furlongs for his seasonal debut, having shown high-class sprint form as a juvenile in 2009, including when runner-up to Sand Vixen in the Group Two Flying Childers Stakes over the distance at Doncaster in September.

Curtis reported: “The plan at the moment is for Bould Mover to head to Epsom Downs. He has done really well over the winter and he has strengthened up into a lovely three-year-old.

“He’s not a slow horse and his form last year was very good, particularly his second in the Flying Childers Stakes, when the winner broke the track record.

“We were expecting him to be sold to the US last summer, so the owners ran him twice at Glorious Goodwood because they thought he was going, but the deal fell through and he ended up going to Doncaster instead.

“If he goes the right way, we are hoping that he could be a Group horse again this season. After Epsom, we are looking at the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot - I think he deserves a tilt at some of the big sprints.”

The Alan Berry-trained Look Busy, winner of the Group Two Temple Stakes last season, heads the weights on 9st 10lb.

‘Sprint King’ Dandy Nicholls, successful in four of the last nine renewals, has seven potential contenders in last year’s winner Indian Trail (8st 5lb), Masta Plasta (9st 7lb), Striking Spirit (9st 1lb), Strike Up The Band (9st 3lb), City Dancer (8st 8lb), Crimea (8st 5lb) and Wotashirtfull (8st 1lb).

Kevin Ryan saddled subsequent Group One winner Desert Lord to success in 2006 and has Le Torreador (9st 1lb), Masamah (9st 1lb), Old Joe Said (8st 13lb), Jargelle (8st 12lb) and Bajan Tryst (8st 8lb).

Moorhouse Lad (9st 3lb), runner-up in 2007, could represent Bryan Smart, who also has recent Thirsk winner Sirenuse (8st 3lb) engaged, while Tim Easterby may run last year’s runner-up Captain Dunne (9st 5lb).

Others of note include the John Quinn-trained Duchess Dora (8st 10lb), Hawkeyethenoo (8st 8lb) from the Jim Goldie yard, Fathom Five (9st), trained by Chris Wall, and the David Barron-trained pair of Archers Road (8st 9lb) and Jaconet (8st 12lb).
