Haydock Park to Host Richest Ever Jump Raceday in November 02/09/08
Haydock Park, the premier Flat and Jump racecourse in the UK is delighted to announce that the 2008 Betfair Chase day, to be held on Saturday 22nd November, will offer over £505,000 in prize money – an increase of over 10% on 2007 figures.
The event will be the richest days jump racing in the country, excluding the two main Jump racing festivals at Cheltenham and Aintree.
This substantial boost in prize money underlines Haydock Park’s continuous commitment to the Jump racing agenda. The significant changes to the race programme include the Grade 1 Betfair Chase incrementing from £200,000 to £225,000 and the 2m Handicap Hurdle for four year olds rising from £40,000 to £50,000.
Dickon White, Managing Director of Haydock Park said, “We are delighted to be staging such a valuable and prestigious Betfair Chase Day in November. We are extremely grateful to Betfair for their continued support and their commitment to the day has enabled us to inject significant prize money into the Betfair Chase. One of our key objectives will be to continue to develop the North West Racing Masters, in conjunction with Aintree who host the Becher Chase on the following day, as one of the highlights of the Jump racing season.”
