Lope De Vega 10-1 for Arc After French Derby Win 07/06/10

Lope De Vega, named after the 17th century Spanish playwright of the same name, won the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly on Sunday.

The Andre Fabre colt skipped clear of the field in the straight, and eventually went on to win the race by an easy three lengths.

Lope De Vega, who won the French Guineas earlier in the season, is now a 10-1 shot with William Hill for this year’s Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

The disappointing French Derby favourite, Cape Blanco has been deleted from Hills Arc market, whilst Workforce, an ultra impressive winner of the Investec Derby, is now the 3-1 favourite (from 4-1) for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in October.
