Captain's Blog - 25th June 2010

It’s Friday today and that means only one thing for me, a trip to Tesco. The list is already written and once I have finished here I will be making the three mile journey to our local store. I am well acquainted with everything Tesco’s, but one thing gets on my nerves and that is the hassle that I always get from our eastern European pals who want to wash my car. As soon as I drive into the car park they are on my tail, sometimes two or three golf buggies laden with buckets and dirty rags will follow me until I find a parking place. They wait to pounce as I get out of the car, I always turn down their offers, but they always try their luck. It would be great if today I could park up without being hassled by the Polish polishers and I will try and sneak through the net today, but they rarely let anybody off the hook these boys.

Once the shopping is done I will be settling down for a bit of channel hopping between the Racing and the football, not to forget Deal or No Deal at 4.00pm. I have become a recent recruit to the delights of the Dream Factory and always watch when I can. In the past I was never a fan of Noel Edmonds particularly when he was messing about with Mr Blobby and his pals, but he is actually a very skilled and accomplished Presenter and there is something vaguely addictive about Deal, as we who watch regularly call it. I prefer it to Countdown with its obvious delights, anyway Carol was much better at the number game.

I will be back at greater length tomorrow with a look ahead to all the excellent Racing action. For now though Tesco beckons, every little helps you know, a maxim that many of those competitors on deal would be wise to bear in mind.

All the best.
