Tyfos and Blue Tango are my two selections at Epsom this afternoon, the former is for me the most consistent horse in training, his fourth at Chester can be put down to the softer surface and he will prefer the Surrey course firmer surface. Simon Pearce has caught my eye during the season and he appeals aboard Blue Tango and although three of his four wins have come on all weather he could be just too good for his rivals.

I’d be very surprised if General Synod is odds against in Salisbury’s 2.10 after his debut at Newbury a couple of weeks ago, he has to be a selection. The second and third in York’s Lowther re-oppose in Salisbury’s 3.50 and surely Margot Did can gain the win she deserves.

The BHA are investigating yesterday’s Hereford punt on Am I Blue. Of course there may be nothing wrong but to be seen doing something is what those looking on have been crying out for, for years and it should continually go on not just with winners but those that are tailed off and all races should be monitored even closer.

Legendary golf tipster Jeremy Chapman won the individual prize in the Coral Golf day just touching off on the last nine hole count back rugby commentator Ian Robertson with 42 points – the better half scored 36 points, so not far behind. But Jeremy’s efforts could only get his team of Andy Lobo, James Willoughby and Tom Segal in to second. Winners were Steve Parlatt, Andy Goram and Nathan Corden. Pricewise did get nearest the pin at the 3rd, while Dan Abraham was nearest at the 9th, Tim Smith at the 14th and Bruce Jackson at the 16th. ’s very own Graham Cunningham launched a ball off the tee at the 18th to win the longest drive – sadly Monty’s made his wildcard selections…
