Tanya's Blog - 8th October 2010 Penultimate day’s racing at York for the season and an ideal opportunity for Paul Hanagan to kick on in the Jockeys’ Championship, especially as he rides the first favourite Alben Star. Zomerlust loves soft ground and he may be worth taking a chance with in York’s 3.20. York’s 4.30 will give us a good idea to any potential draw bias for tomorrow’s Coral Sprint Trophy and my selection is Haajes. Not a great day if you fancy going racing and you live south of York, you’re going to have to wait at least 24hours or incur enormous travel costs. AP McCoy is making the long journey to Carlisle so watch out for the Jonjo O’Neill pair at 2.30 and 3.40. However it is Recession Proof who catches the eye in the 1.30. I went to David Hood’s wedding reception yesterday, Charlotte his wife looked stunning, it was held in Aldermaston and the venue was decked out brightly and beautifully. The better half and I left early as the band was cracking on and the celebrations looked set into the early hours of this morning. The better half had an early start this morning to go to Richard Rowe’s yard to see Pocket Aces who is due to run next week and Manele Bay who is due out a couple of weeks later at Ascot. I’m sure the horses will get their quota of polos and I’ll keep you informed.
POINTERS Steven Drowne and Hughie Morrison have teamed up for three winners from their last five runners Henry Cecil has had five winners from his last 12 runners Luca Cumani has had three winners from his last seven runners Nigel Twiston-Davies has had four winners from his last eight runners Justcallmehandsome is going for his ninth course win at Wolverhampton at 9.20 this evening Star Player is hoping to increase his unbeaten run at Carlisle to four in the 4.50
