Sponsors Give Sizing Europe a 14-1 Quote for William Hill King George Ahead of Seasonal Debut 13/10/10

Last season’s Arkle winner Sizing Europe has been given a quote of 14-1 for this year’s King George VI Chase at Kempton by the race sponsors William Hill.

However, the eight-year-old, who makes his seasonal debut in 2m 7f chase at Punchestown on Thursday, must prove his stamina at the Kildare venue before his trainer gives him the green light to go to Kempton.

Henry De Bromhead, trainer of Sizing Europe, said on Tuesday "Sizing Europe returns to action in a 2m 7f chase, and we are really looking forward to seeing how he gets on over the trip"

‘Alan and Ann Potts are very keen to explore the 3 mile route as the season progresses and we feel that this is the ideal starting point for him. If he gets home, the King George is a possible target. It's fantastic to have him back and we couldn't be any happier with him.’

If De Bromhead’s charge proves his metal over the 2m 7f trip - then racing could be treated to a mouth watering clash between Sizing Europe and Kauto Star, a 7-4 chance to win his fifth King George, on the 26th of December.

‘Sizing Europe was one of the most exciting novice chasers of last season – and it’ll be fascinating to see how he performs on his seasonal debut,’ said Hills spokesman Tony Kenny ‘We’ve given him a 14-1 quote for the King George, but he proves his stamina on Thursday – then he’ll probably be half that price.’
