Captain's Blog - 2nd December 2010 Many thanks to all of you who got involved in the Kempton show yesterday. We received over one hundred emails and there were some very interesting ones among them. In terms of presenting the show yesterday your missives helped the show move along at a good pace and both Eddie and I enjoyed the show and that is mostly thanks to you guys. Of course it would have been a whole lot better if my blog selection had obliged, but no joy there I am afraid which was a little frustrating given that I had done a good deal of work on the card. Not to worry, that is the way of things, and I will hopefully find a decent bet at Wolverhampton this afternoon. Unfortunately, we have just lost the Sandown card on Friday to the extreme weather conditions and to be frank it looks as if turf racing is not going to take place this week at all and it may be into the middle of next week before the hedge hoppers get going again. Not to worry I am a big fan of all weather racing and sometimes when you only have one meeting to study you can focus better and see the all important wood from the trees. I am watching the England team make their final presentation of the 2018 World Cup bid. I have to say it is a very professional and slick effort from David Cameron and his pals but they must be cursing the brain dead Birmingham fans who invaded their own pitch last night to bate the Aston Villa fans after their win in the Carling Cup Quarter Finals. This thuggery will not have done the bid any good whatsoever and simply goes to prove that Football is still very tribal and partisan which means that even if we do get the World Cup there is no way we can guarantee that it will be a trouble free tournament. I hope those who ran onto the pitch last night looking for a scrap are proud of themselves and above all I hope they are identified and banned from football for life, but unfortunately there were so many of them a lot will slip through the net. Right, I am off to the gym now and then it will be home to see if we have won the 2018 World Cup. Stay warm.
Today's Selection 6:30 Wolverhampton – Grudge (each way 4/1 Sportingbet)
