Angus McNae

Captain's Blog - 14th December 2010

I am becoming a little concerned as to the whereabouts of various Christmas presents that I have bought online recently. For the first time ever I have sought to do most of my shopping on the internet and I am beginning to wish I had opted for the more traditional method of trudging around shopping arcades. Who knows I may still have to do that if my purchases do not arrive in time. I do not feel all that comfortable when money has left my account and I have nothing tangible to show for it and that discomfort grows with every day that passes and nothing arrives in the post. Not to worry, my other half has a birthday in January and if all else fails the presents earmarked for Christmas will have to be re-routed to her Birthday. Either way Christmas will begin properly at McNae towers on Friday when we get the tree from our local farm shop and put up some decorations.

Catterick has got the all clear this morning without the need for an inspection which means as soon as I have finished here I will be setting off for the office to work in the booth. It should be a good day of racing with the excellent duo of Peter Naughton and Paul Morrison taking us through all the action. The two of them are tremendous value and are a regular fixture on in Yorkshire. Make sure you tune in and listen to the boys from 12.00, they are sure to provide great entertainment and information.

I could do with a winner or two here on the blog after a few reversals of late. Leyte Gulf ran no sort of race for us yesterday at Wolverhampton and in truth it was a rubbish selection. I am going through one of those poor runs that we all experience and hopefully I can fight may way out of it today. I certainly need to if I need to buy yet more Christmas presents because the first lot are not going to turn up.

Time to head to the office. All the best for a profitable and peaceful day.

Today's Selection

1:55 Southwell – West End Lad (each way 7/1 Victor Chandler )
