Angus McNae

Captain's Blog - 20th April 2011

Our selection was non runner yesterday at Pontefract which when you are in bad form is as good as a winner. I am hoping that we can get back on track today given that there is plenty of decent action to go at this afternoon and on into the evening. The evening is particularly relevant to me as I will be in the studio to present all the action from Kempton Park. I am delighted to say that Steve Mellish will be my guest and if you have any questions for him do not hesitate to email the programme on . Steve and I will be happy to field your questions and we would also welcome a few selections as well. No doubt you will have some thoughts on the action at Epsom this afternoon and if so we would also like to hear from you.

The Easter break is almost upon us which in the McNae household means St Helens versus Wigan on Good Friday which will become a great Friday if Saints can do the business. It also means that our second wedding Anniversary is upon us and I need to firstly not forget about it and secondly make sure I get something for my better half. I am planning to do that on Thursday, but the finer details of what I am going to do is still all a blur in my mind. I need to focus big time. The small problem I have is that I have a window of opportunity to get to the shops on Thursday, but I have already told her I will mow the lawn in that window. Thus I need to make but a flying visit to the shops before getting the lawn done. Thursday is meant to be a day off, but as you can tell it will be anything but. That will teach me to leave everything to the last minute, although I have been trying for thirty years to break that habit!

Make sure you tune into this afternoon as we have some excellent Racing from Epsom for you and please stay with us into the evening for Kempton.

I will be back tomorrow, but for now I need to kick start the pram and get off to my tea van!
