Tanya's Blog - 12th May 2011

Decidedly colder, in fact a stronger breeze and we’ve already had a shower at York and it’s only 9.30am. Mac, Alan Lee, Graham Dench, Lee Motteshead and photographer Dan Abraham are all in position in the press room. The groundsmen are inspect the course at present, all 12 seem to be crouched down at the ½ furlong marker for some strange reason. The leaf and debris blowers are clearing the terraces for today’s attendance. I hope there are more people at York than there were yesterday.

Plus, I hope my punting improves other than those in the blog I did Tiddliwinks each-way and The Galloping Shoe each-way both combined retrieved my stakes on Genki; etc. For info, my Newmarket racecard selections this evening are 5:45 Collect Art, 6:15 Cresta Star, 6:50 Hunza Dancer, 7:25 Lyric Street, 8:00 Primaeaval, 8:30 Highland Park.

I have to agree with Pricewise in JOHANNES, thought he ran very well at Newmarket on May 1, his path was blocked many times and he won the equivalent York race last year. Saver though on SWISS FRANC as that run simply can’t be that price.

Anything over evens on MIDDAY should be taken, at the time of writing she is 2.16 on Betfair which seems enormous value. She is in a different league to her rivals. In contrast, World Domination is a huge drifter and one to avoid. I fancy MIDSUMMER FAIR for the Investec Derby at Epsom so am intrigued to how the Dante pans out.

Nap of the day has to be OFF CHANCE, price enormous, she only finished four lengths behind Seta at Goodwood on latest and prior to that wasn’t far behind St Moritz. She can’t be that price.

As for Sawgrass thoughts go to Adam Scott playing a blinder and Sergio Garcia as a saver.
