How Fantasy Football draws you in to the intricacies of Premier League football. Van Persie's missed penalty cost me the monthly office league Golden Boot prize! Still second place isn’t bad, as I thought I’d be relegated. I’ve transferred Michael Dawson, he proved to be a liability and without him I’d be on for Europe rather than fifth in the office!
Later on today I will be watching as much of the NFL week 3 pre-season games as possible. It seems New England forgot to turn up in Detroit. Either that or we have to plunge on the Lions to win the Superbowl! Somehow I don’t think Detroit’s improvement is that much. Last week I was really impressed with New York Jets, but - and it's a big but - remember the first team players only play for a small part of these games.
Is £32+VAT to get into Chessington World of Adventures, expensive? Believe it or not that is where I was yesterday, before heading off to do more touristy things in the nearby area. Then I paused, a bit of contemplation, £70+ to get to see England play at Lords, and it can cost around that to go through the main turnstile at racecourses - but at Epsom today it’s free! Shame both Epsom and Goodwood clash.
I see punters at Cartmel had a fantastic day with five winning favourites, there could be more of the same at Epsom today. BALDEMAR has won two of his three races at Epsom. Since his last win in Surrey he has run in a couple of very competitive handicaps, with seventh in the William Hill Great St Wilfrid latest. He won’t be far away.
I could have run quicker than THE BELLS O PEOVER recently but I am not convinced he has deteriorated that quickly. He has only beaten four horses in his last three races, but why is his trainer persevering with him? I will watch Epsom’s 3.50 with interest.
Jeremy Noseda has had seven winners from his last 14 runners
Clive Cox has had four winners, two seconds and two thirds from his last 13 runners
Sir Mark Prescott has had eight winners from his last 13 runners at Epsom
Saeed Bin Suroor has had three winners from his last six Southwell runners
Epsom’s 3.15 has gone to the favourite five times in the last seven years
Tim Easterby has done particularly well Ripon’s 3.00, with three wins in the last 10 years
