Captain's Blog - 6th October 2011

Misdemeanour won for us here on the blog at 3/1 last night. I was actually at the track last night and tipped this horse as the best bet of the night to a few people and the sense of relief I felt when it obliged was probably written all over my face. Hopefully you too were on. It is a stressful thing this tipping lark you know.

I received a comment on the blog yesterday which in essence sought to tell me that Kieren Fallon learnt his craft with Jimmy Fitzgerald and not the Ramsdens. Thank you for your opinion Sir but although Fallon did indeed work for Jimmy Fitzgerald he really developed as a top class rider with the Ramsdens. This is my opinion and I do not want to get in a fight over it, you may disagree with my opinion, but that is the beauty of living in a democracy where freedom of speech is still allowed, for the time being at least.

Tomorrow I am going to put together a pocket guide to the Dewhurst Stakes that takes place at Newmarket on Saturday live on . A preliminary look tells me that it is going to be an excellent renewal of the race and could have significant bearing on betting for the 2000 Guineas. That is all to come tomorrow folks. I bet you cannot wait!

As for today I need to get my jump racing hat out of the cupboard because tomorrow I will be in the studio with Johnathan Neesom dealing with all the racing from Carlisle. I did watch a little bit of Ludlow yesterday to try and get my mind tuned in to the jumps and hopefully I will be suitably prepared come tomorrow lunchtime If not I am sure Johnathan will bail me out if necessary.

For now I shall bid you farewell. Lets hope the selection wins today and relieves a little more stress.

All the best.
