Captain's Blog - 30th November 2011

I must apologise for the absence of my blog yesterday. The reason for this lies fairly and squarely at the door of Virgin Media whose Broadband service in my area was down all day. My dedication to the blog took me to a number of coffee shops in search of a Wi Fi connection, but to no avail. In the end I had to give up the unequal struggle. It would seem that the Virgin Media team have got their act together today and this blog should be alive and kicking on the website very shortly.

It looks as if the Public Sector strike today means that the numerous recycling boxes we have to juggle these days will not be collected. I guess they will come tomorrow instead. These boxes are of great fascination to one of my close neighbours who has plenty of time on his hands and has little better to do than to pry into peoples business. This has lead him to conduct a regular study of all the boxes in our street. He wanders up and down seemingly taking in some fresh air but really he is checking out the bins thereby identifying what everybody eats drinks and reads! Yes he is a bit weird and wears Darth Vadar style sunglasses all the year round and I suppose when life gets a tad mundane we can thank the recycling revolution for giving us something to do when all other avenues have been exhausted. Incidentally there is nothing of interest in his box bar an old Readers Digest, I had a sneaky look last night in a you look at mine I will look at yours moment.

I am in the Studio tonight for some synthetic action from Kempton. James Willoughby will be my guest and we have an eight race card to keep us enthralled. You can get involved in sending us your random thoughts to [email protected]. We are happy to talk about anything, you set the agenda and we will run with it.

You may have been relieved that my blog did not appear yesterday because it saved you from a duff tip! Well there is no escape today folks.

Coming up later this week a quick fire guide to the Tingle Creek and an update on the recycling boxes!

All the best
