Tanya's Blog - 6th January 2012 Scraped another glacier off the windscreen this morning before performing various taxi duties, perhaps I should put a meter in the car. While I’m on about ice, just turned the telly back on to see a preview of Dancing On Ice which starts this weekend. Compulsive viewing if you love betting on reality TV but it seems a few of the contestants have been trying to get a part in BBC’s Casualty! Who watched the opening show of Celebrity Big Brother last night? You can tell I haven’t got a life! Genius the task set to Natalie Cassidy, she had to say a bunch of corny and cringe worthy comments to incoming housemates in order that they get their suitcases, all unbeknowest to them. She made it look easy and defied Big Brother with her naturally gifted acting skills. Couldn’t believe my eyes though when Michael Madsen was announced as a housemate, one of my acting heroes and Hollywood bad guy, surely his tolerance level will mean he exits stage left with considerable haste. All my sport is on through the early hours so sleep is non-existent at present and what with the NFL playoffs on Saturday including my beloved New Orleans Saints against the upcoming Detroit Lions it’s one for the connoisseurs! Back to the racing today and there hardly anything to grab but I notice ROYAL BAJAN is very popular on the exchanges and in the offices this morning, the 2-1 is long gone and James Given has had three winners from his last five runners. Watch Lingfield’s 3.25. One to note for future reference is Monsieur Joe, he had a troubled run in the 5f race at Meydan and will surely pick up a big prize in Dubai imminently. Don’t forget to tune in early today on as racing from Meydan starts at 11am!
POINTERS Nicky Henderson has had five winners from his last 11 runners, if fact only one of his 11 runners in 2012 has finished out of the first two! Ian Williams has had five winners from his last 12 runners Phillip Makin and Kevin Ryan have teamed up for three winners from their last seven runners Since the start of 2012 Paddy Brennan has ridden five winners from his last 10 rides Andrew Tinkler has had six winners and two seconds from his last 13 rides Richard Johnson has had seven winners from his last 22 hurdle rides at Bangor Tim Vaughan and Richard Johnson have a 37% strike rate at Bangor
