Tanya's Blog - Wednesday 6th June 2012

Over the last few days much studying has been done in this quarter with the impending Euro 2012 starting on Friday; I can’t wait. Especially as I did so well in the office Fantasy Football roll on office Fantasy Euro 2012; there are some male reputations need redeeming! Add to that the domestic Twenty20 with a sprinkling of overseas players and there is much to look forward to. Hope you all enjoyed the double Bank Holiday courtesy of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. It certainly makes this week shorter.

I arrived at the office at 7.30am this morning and at the time of writing all is quiet with only the hum of the air conditioning, cleaners and couriers making a subtle disturbance to remind normal service is resumed.

The sun glides through the clouds as to date the predicted sporadic rainfall is yet to start. My small win on the Euromillions last night has disappeared thanks to the newspaper requirements of the guys in the office, as well as my luxury ‘Cricket Paper’. I can see the only two websites I’ll be logging onto in the immediate future are UEFA.com and espncricinfo.com.

However I digress and back to the racing. Tom Dascombe appeared on the Morning Line on May 12 when the studio was at Chester, which is not far from the location of his stables. There was a discussion with him about his runners at the May meeting at which Fat Gary was a winner on the Thursday. He had fielded many runners in that race, including Trinityelitedotcom who had been a non-runner on the Wednesday. On the programme Tom stated he had fancied Trinityelitedotcom to beat Fat Gary and with stable jockey on board as well that just emphasised the fact. In the extreme conditions he found himself leading but may have learned plenty from the experience. Providing stable confidence has now waned he has to be a selection.

At Ripon this evening carrying top weight for Orsippus won’t present a problem as he plies his trade mainly over hurdles in especially competitive handicaps. Today he reverts to the Flat after a satisfactory run at York a few weeks ago when fourth, in preparation for Royal Ascot, no doubt. He looks to have at least an each-way chance.

Today's Selections:

3.05 Nottingham: Trinitylitedotcom

9.10 Ripon: Orsippus
