Tanya's Blog - Friday 22nd June 2012 There is always an argument amongst friends when it comes to horoscopes as to whether I’m a Virgo or Libra. In all honesty I couldn’t care less as astrology isn’t my thing, well that is until today and Astrology the King Edward VII Stakes. Aidan O’Brien’s runner nearly skipped clear down the Epsom camber in the Derby but one feels he was doing a job for Camelot and the excursions cost him second place by a whisker. Today he can run at a more sedate pace and we can see a return to the Astrology we saw scamper away to a devastating win at Chester. Thought Worthy and Noble Mission renew the hard fought rivalry they had in the Fairway Stakes at Newmarket recently and you feel Thought Worthy will come out on top again. Doncaster and the Ladbrokes St Leger should beckon for him. Mick Channon’s last seven runners have all been beaten in the Coronation Stakes but somehow I think that is all about to change and he could be cheeky enough to saddle the 1-2 with Laugh Out Loud beating Samitar. Perhaps Exacta the pair as after Ishvana winning the Jersey Stakes the Irish 1000 Guineas form looks pretty good. Laugh Out Loud has improved so much it is almost as if she has grown an extra pair of legs. It has been wonderful to behold, and even better for such a gent of a trainer as Mick Channon. I normally find myself watching Ant & Dec on a Saturday night reporting from an Australian jungle. Today they will be wading through the Royal Ascot betting jungle with a few Australians mingling amongst the crowds readying themselves for the Black Caviar jamboree. Ant & Dec are the proud owners of Primaeval, trained by James Fanshawe and ridden by Hayley Turner. James Fanshawe has been meticulous in his planning for this horse and let’s hope it all comes together. I could empty the pockets as the day promises so much, a possible nightmare for bookmakers, as I didn’t even mention the progressive Gatewood. I can’t believe I resisted the temptation to head to Grace Road yesterday. What a line up the Aussies put on show. Clarke, Wade, Watson, David Hussey, Warner, need I go on? Well, I should – where’s Michael Hussey? I’m gutted that Mr Cricket hasn’t come over – it goes to show you can’t have everything.
