Tanya's Blog - Tuesday 28th August 2012 Normal service resumed today with three hours of sitting in traffic trying to get to the office. The peace and solitude of the past couple of days has gone and hence a delay to posting the blog. Then I needed to exercise the muscles. The daily delivery of newspapers to the office hadn’t been picked up since last Thursday so that built the muscles up and the recycle bin has been put to good use. I have mail, parcels and emails to go through dating back to Monday 20 August and Snowdon would seem an easier proposition at this stage. Despite all of the above there is plenty to smile about, Oakland Raiders actually won a game in preseason, cricket is on today at the Rose Bowl, fingers crossed, and the countdown is on to the Ryder Cup in Medinah. There is a wonderful warm and heartening feeling when opening the Racing Post you read of the National Hunt trainers’ open days - old friends are returning. Meanwhile there continues to be much debate on Frankel, who can give him a race? No-one. Where should he go next? He’ll go to Ascot. Most of the energy and resources should be put to what will happen in the final Classic of the season, the Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster. Camelot, remember him? Despite being defeated by Thought Worthy on the Knavesmire I still haven’t given up on Main Sequence. It’s often said it’s a small world. That was never more true than this morning when a friend of mine bumped into one of the owners of Jack Of Diamonds at the dentist. The horse who runs in the 3.55 at Epsom today has an each-way chance. No surprise the owner is heading to Epsom later today to cheer on his charge and I wish him the best of luck. The other horse who caught the eye today was Sir Michael Stoute’s Debating Society, another who is taking in the cambers of the Surrey venue. Fate is normally cruel so with Ryan Moore on the its way into the winner’s enclosure.
