Tanya's Blog - Thursday 6th September 2012 What more can be said, that hasn’t been already on Lord Oaksey. He set generosity standards within his charity work which will continue to be upheld. His selflessness and gentle nature made you wish you were like him and just walking towards him or even watching old tapes of his presenting brought a broad and warm smile to your face. He was the heart and soul of jump racing, I’m sure his values shine through the sport now and are one of the reasons we are endeared to the winter code. He made sure his defeats were as glorious as his wins, it is after all, sport. Lord Oaksey’s manner welcomed and embraced all who took an interest in racing leaving them craving more with his unique fun-loving style. Lord Oaksey would want us to celebrate his life by rolling up our sleeves and helping those who work tirelessly to ensure our enjoyment just like he did with the Injured Jockeys’ Fund. Condolences to his family, thoughts and prayers are with them at this time. Our sub conscious is unexplainable, last night although aware it was the first game of the NFL season I thought I’d get a good night’s sleep in. Not so at 1.30am this morning I awoke totally fresh and no surprise, yes I did put Sky Sports on, to enjoy the Dallas Cowboys at the New York Giants. What a match. Tony Romo and his Cowboys on a roll are a joy to watch, their capabilities are widely known, their consistencies are not and they are prone to put in a bad one, but wouldn’t it make the season if they only get better! Roll on to Sunday with such match ups San Francisco @ Green Bay and Pittsburgh @ Denver - can’t wait! Haydock hosts the first of three fabulous days which culminates with the Betfred Sprint Cup on Saturday. The weather looks set fair so if you are nearby I would head along and many will do at the weekend with no Premier League Football on the cards. While on football a smooth link to Doncaster Rover who lines up in Haydock’s 3.35, he has good course form and will relish a step down in grade. I must admit I’m a little concerned over his drift on the exchanges. In contrast there is much money for Restraint Of Trade in Haydock’s first and he could be worth watching.
Today's Selection: 2.30 Haydock Restraint Of Trade 3.35 Haydock Doncaster Rover
