Tanya's Blog - Saturday 8th September 2012

Hope you’ve got your copy of the Racing Plus, there are some great stats relating to the Betfred Sprint Cup, someone has been working really hard. One relates to the draw which suggests those in stall 1-5 are disadvantaged. Which will put a smile on the faces on those ploughing into Ortensia with Society Rock and Bated Breath falling into that category.

Trainer Paul Messara seemed very confident about Ortensia’s chances my heart says she ought to have no trouble obliging. There’s money for Strong Suit but I can’t forgive him his run at Newbury when he couldn’t peg back Lethal Force over seven so how is he going to get speedier individuals. With Richard Hughes on board I’d love to be proved wrong. Bated Breath did the job in the Temple Stakes and was inconvenienced by the draw in the Nunthorpe.

If Society Rock doesn’t try and get himself beaten I think he will be Ortensia’s biggest danger. Often appearing unlucky, he has his conditions today, he may be the winner in my head but today I will let my heart overrule it with Ortensia.

In the other races I like My Propellor in the 2.15 and Chil The Kite ought to go close if he is Cambridgeshire favourite. Yet my big fancies are at Ascot with Sirius Prospect who could have had a chance of a place in the Betfred Sprint Cup he sure to go close in Ascot 3.45 while in the Ascot 4.15 Gospel Choir to improve on the Haydock win.

Sorry this is brief but the later Morning Line time caught me out and there is much to do before the afternoon with little time left.

Today's Selection:

3.45 Ascot Sirius Prospect

4.15 Ascot Gospel Choir
