Tanya's Blog - Thursday 27th September 2012 The experiment of a summer jumps meeting at Chester is an interesting concept for me. All ideas must be given a chance. If I lived nearer or didn’t have to be at work, watching Monday’s trials would certainly be at the top of the agenda. However the course, as does most of the country, deserves some respite from the rain. Such a meeting would be reminiscent of Cartmel with, I’m guessing, a big crowd and superb atmosphere. As yet there haven’t been any misgivings from relevant parties and the fact Donald McCain is willing to provide the horses for the trials gives it the thumbs up. Bravo to those on-course bookmakers who have braved the hideous wet conditions. Pictures of Folkestone Tuesday shows true dedication. Yet I can’t help thinking when I was in their position over twenty years ago there were no exchanges to hedge into! Newmarket’s three day Cambridgeshire meeting starts at 2.00. The well thought of Telescope, who holds a Racing Post Trophy entry, is sure to have Space Ship in his sights! John Gosden will have a yardstick on Telescope as his Snow King was his conqueror at Ascot and it will be an intriguing battle between the pair. I note Sea Of Heartbreak is entered both today and tomorrow at Newmarket, I even tipped her in the racecard today. Thought she has put in some fair efforts, consistently mixing it with Group 1s and Group 2s, including up against The Fugue and Snow Fairy! Kieren Fallon won on Basseterre back in May and the pair reunite for Newmarket’s 4.50 later this afternoon. He didn’t run so well at Sandown last time but can be forgiven off the back of a three month break.
Today's Selection: 2.00 Newmarket Telescope 3.10 Newmarket Sea Of Heartbreak 4.50 Newmarket Basseterre
