Captain's Blog - Monday 1st October Hamilton has been abandoned today, but this does not stop , the show must go on as they say, and it will, courtesy of a one hour Arc preview program at 2.00pm. I will be in the studio and will be joined by Graham Cunningham for this special show which will run the rule over the leading Prix de L'arc de Triomphe contenders and look at the importance of factors such as the ground, the draw and the way the race is often run. All live on your TV screens at 2pm. I am ashamed to say that I did not see the end of the Ryder Cup last night. I fell asleep and by the time I woke up Europe had secured an unlikely victory. To win from being 10-6 down going into the final day was a tremendous effort. I am sure the spirit of Seve was looking down on the whole affair and the boys did him proud, although I am certain he would not be impressed with me falling asleep way before the winning putt was sunk by Martin Kaymer. My selection today is Caterina in the 3.20 at Bath. She was a decisive winner at Folkestone last time and crucially that was the first time that she had tackled this trip of 10 furlongs. Thus unexposed at this level she could have a little more improvement to come. She is currently trading at 7/2 which is fair enough. I rate her as a three star win bet.
Today's Selection 3.20 Bath - 3* Caterina * If I have a strong view about a selection I will always make that apparent and I scale the confidence I have in my selections. One is minimum faith and 10 is maximum bet stuff.
