Angus McNae

Captain's Blog - Thursday 20th December

My each way selection yesterday finished second at 10/1 beaten a nose. I have to admit that I felt a tad frustrated as he was collared on the line after looking to be the winner a furlong out. Such is life I guess and at least the each way part of the bet secured a profit, but it could have been so much better.

Unfortunately Exeter is off today so will just have Kempton for you today. I will be in the studio and will be joined by Alex Steedman. As ever please send your e-mails to [email protected]. You set the agenda and we will role with your discussion points. This will be my last shift before Christmas, but I will be back into the fray on Boxing Day when armed with Turkey sandwiches I will be in the booth for the five meeting bonanza that we always bring you the day after Christmas.

My selection today comes in the 5.00 at Kempton where I like the chances of Norwegian Reward. He won over a mile last time at Lingfield and in a modest contest this afternoon has every chance of following up. Michael Wigham, his trainer, is in good form and I can see this horse racking up a sequence in the next week or two. He is likely to be a short price but I think he will win.

That's it for today. Have a good one.
