Buick, leading jockey at the meeting in 2014 and 2021, partnered all of Appleby’s winners throughout the week, with Mischief Magic getting the ball rolling in Tuesday’s British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes.

Secret State captured Wednesday’s Coral Beaten-By-A-Length Free Bet Handicap, with fellow three-year-olds New London and Warren Point scoring on Thursday in the G3 John Pearce Racing Gordon Stakes and Coral Kincsem Handicap.

Rebel’s Romance was on the scoresheet in Friday’s G3 L'Ormarins Queen's Plate Glorious Stakes, capping a fantastic week for the Godolphin trainer and jockey combination.

Buick, who currently holds a healthy lead in the jockeys’ championship, also enjoyed success on the George Boughey-trained Oscula in Wednesday’s G3 Whispering Angel Oak Tree Stakes.

The jockey was riding at Newmarket this afternoon and told RacingTV: “I've been lucky to ride some good horses and it's been a great week of racing. I thought I had some good rides during the week and it's worked out.

"Oscula ran only four days after being beaten a nose in a Group Three at Ascot, so for George [Boughey] and his team to bring her back after that effort was remarkable. She has to be one of the toughest horses I've ridden. She's been knocking on the door and deserved that win.

"We've learned plenty about these horses. Secret State carried top-weight and did it very well, so he's a horse that can progress. I was delighted with New London, who is now taking every step in his stride after things came a bit too quick for him in the spring. He has come back and then there was Rebel's Romance yesterday. All nice horses with a future.

"It means a lot to be top jockey and I'm very thankful. It mostly went smoothly and, while you always look back on some races and wonder about how it went, everything went pretty well. I had good rides and thankfully most worked out well."
