Aidan O'Brien's Together Forever holds off fellow Irish raider Agnes Stewart to win the Fillies' Mile

The father-son combination of Aidan and Joseph O'Brien teamed up to land the Dubai Fillies' Mile at Newmarket with the teak-tough Together Forever.

Turning out just five days after winning a Listed event at the Curragh, the daughter of Galileo looked to have plenty on her plate stepped up to Group One level as Marsh Hawk took the field along in the early stages, with Good Place and hot favourite Lucida close by.

Together Forever (7-1) was positioned wide by O'Brien, but quickened up well to lead inside the final furlong and stuck on gamely in the closing stages to claim victory by half a length over Agnes Stewart, another major contender for Ireland.

Winters Moon ran well in third, but Lucida disappointingly faded out of contention.

Joseph O'Brien said: "She's done nothing but improve and has won three in a row. She has plenty of speed and I don't see why you couldn't start in a Guineas and end up in an Oaks."

Aidan O'Brien added: "She's a lovely filly and is a little bit weak still. We fancied her a few times and probably made too much use of her.

"We were going to leave this filly off after her last run but she was in such good form during the week we decided to let her come.

"She has good-sized feet on her and we thought the experience and the travel over would do her good for next year. We're delighted with that and she's going to be a lovely filly next year.

"I always thought she would stay very well. She has enough pace to be a Guineas filly and could get an Oaks trip."

Eddie Lynam was delighted with May Hill Stakes winner Agnes Stewart's run and is looking forward to bringing her back to Newmarket for the Qipco 1000 Guineas.

He said: "She ran great, especially on that sort of ground. I'm not saying she didn't handle it, but she'd be better on better ground. All being well, she'll come back here next May for the Guineas."

James Doyle, rider of the third home, said: " Winters Moon ran OK and as she was drawn against the rail she could have done with a little bit of luck. She was left picking up the pieces, but I couldn't fault her."
