Nations Alexander
A close third in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at the July meeting, the daughter of Dark Angel had her stamina to prove in this seven-furlong contest but simply kept on galloping from the front.

Godolphin's Grecian Light came out of the pack to challenge after encountering some trouble in running but was still a length and a half adrift at the winning post.

The progressive On Her Toes held on for third place in a photo-finish.

Winning trainer Richard Hannon said afterwards that he may adopt a path he has used to good effect before with Nations Alexander.

"We will supplement her for the Moyglare Stakes. The last grey filly I supplemented for the Moyglare went and won the Guineas (Sky Lantern)," he said.

"She seems to go on any ground and is improving. She showed a lot of speed today. Peter and Ross Doyle picked her up for 50,000 guineas and she is proving a good buy.

"Noel O'Callaghan (owner) didn't see her win but did come over and see her when she got beat, so I might tell him to stay at home again next time!

"She goes on any ground and is lovely filly. She will let you do what you want with her. I think she will be a nice filly for next year.

"There are races like the Calvados over in France and the Rockfel and Fillies' Mile back at Newmarket. She is clearly improving and getting better with racing."

Nations Alexander earned a 25/1 quote from Sky Bet for next year's Qipco 1000 Guineas on the back of the victory.
