Gallery Worth Focusing On in King's Stand

Although there are some good horses entered for Tuesday's Group1 King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, it doesn't look a vintage renewal, notwithstanding the fascinating presence of Australian challengers Nicconi and Gold Trail, writes Elliot Slater.
The Aussie pair look sure to give a very good account of themselves, as has been proven by previous Antipodean raids on the meeting's major sprint events, but bookmaker's seem to have overlooked the chance of the talented Total Gallery, a horse who makes tremendous each-way appeal at standout odds of 12/1 with Betfred.
Stanley Moore's four-year-old has been up against it in smart company this term having to give weight away every time as a result of the Group 1 penalty for his success in last season's Prix de l'Abbaye at Longchamp, but on Tuesday he will race off level weights and looks set to put up a big performance. Anyone with an interest in racing tips should bear this in mind.
A winner of the listed Pavilion Stakes at Ascot last spring, the Namid colt goes on any ground and will not be inconvenienced if the underfoot conditions are on the fast side of good. In defeating the very classy Fleeting Spirit, and many other top notch speedsters in Paris last year, Moore's charge showed he has the temperament and ability to hold his own at the highest level. Now, allowed to race off level weights for the first time in 2010, he can prove that his big victory was no flash in the pan.
Kingsgate Native, winner of last year's Golden Jubilee Stakes at the Royal meeting looks best of the rest of the home team, while Nicconi looks the first choice Australian challenger and has been the subject of glowing gallop reports during the last few weeks and is expected to run very well indeed. These two charges are likely to be near the top of any list of horse racing tips for the event.
All in all though, 12/1 each-way Total Gallery look a tremendous value bet.
