Master trainer Aidan O'Brien has won the Group 2 Railway Stakes a staggering 11 times in the last 13 years, a quite sensational record of success in such a high grade event. On Sunday he relies solely on Samuel Morse to continue the sequence and the hint should be taken, writes Elliot Slater.

Top notch performers such as King Of Kings, Rock Of Gibraltar, George Washington, Antonius Pius, Holy Roman Emperor and Mastercraftsman have all taken the Railway Stakes on the way to establishing themselves as smart juveniles and went on to make the grade at the highest level at three. O'Brien had a hatful of entries at the five-day stage for this contest and it is highly significant he chose to rely solely on Samuel Morse to see off his ten rivals in the big curtain raiser on Irish Derby day. A winner of his first two starts at the Curragh on fast and testing ground, the son of Danehill Dancer finished fourth behind Strong Suit at Royal Ascot last week in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes.
O'Brien has clearly judged that his colt is none the worse for his Ascot exertions and has pinned all his hopes on Johnny Murtagh's mount to continue his amazing winning sequence in the race.
