Majestic Concorde Heads Galway Plate Betting – 65 Stand Ground 22/07/10

A total of 65 horses have stood their ground at the latest forfeit stage for next Wednesday’s Tote Galway Plate at Ballybrit.

The Dermot Weld trained Majestic Concorde is now the 6-1 favourite for the race having been 8-1 earlier on in the week.

Other interesting movers over the last few days include the Willie Mullins trained Themoonandsixpence (12-1 to 8-1), Grand Slam Hero (12-1 to 10-1) and Nicanor (25-1 to 20-1).

‘Majestic Concorde and Themoonandsixpence have been the two best backed horses in the race,’ said Hills spokesman Tony Kenny ‘However, both seem to perform better on a sound surface, and with the ground currently soft, soft to heavy in places – we could see a real shake-up in the market if the ground remains the same or gets worse.’

Tote Galway Plate: (William Hill bet): 6-1 Majestic Concorde, 8-1 Themoonandsixpence, 9-1 Five Dream, 10-1 Cuan Na Grai, Grand Slam Hero, Nedzers Return, The Last Derby, 14-1 Bobs Pride, Bringbackthebiff, Decoy Daddy, Deutschland, 16-1 Backstage, Dancing Tornado, Nintytwo Team, Northern Alliance, Paco Jack, The Fonze, Truckers Delight, 20-1 Dancing Hero, Del Rio, Dont Be Bitin, Glacial Promise, Hampstead Heath, Jawad, Lucky, Wish, Manhattan Boy, Nicanor, Pallasmore, Pennys Bill, Sarteano, Streets Of Gold, Swing Bill, Tasman, Valerius, Will Jamie Run, 25-1 Bar – (EW ¼ 1,2,3,4)
