Starspangledbanner Heads Nunthorpe Betting

The Golden Jubilee Stakes and July Cup winner, Starspangledbanner, heads the betting for the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at 9-4, in Coral's opening show on the five furlong Group One. Another Royal Ascot winner, Equiano, is the 3-1 second favourite for the York highlight, ahead of the 2007 Nunthorpe winner, Kingsgate Native, at 11-2.

"Although Starspangledbanner's two wins this summer have been over six furlongs, and several of the horses he beat at Newmarket last time looks set to reoppose him at York, we have been impressed enough to make him favourite to complete a Group One sprint hat-trick," said Coral's David Stevens.

Looking further afield, the Haskell Invitational winner, Lookin At Lucky, is 5-1 with Coral for the Breeders' Cup Classic, behind last year's Classic heroine, Zenyatta, at 4-1.
