    Tanya's Blog - 28th October 2010

Pure Genius, just simply the greatest – The Apprentice is brilliant, love it, and for those of you who have recorded it, I’ll hold back who was kicked off until tomorrow.

Woke up this morning to see Jerry Rice interviewed on the BBC, a master of his sport, American Football. He was part of the legendary San Francisco 49ers who won so many Superbowls they ran out of room in the trophy cabinet. Today the franchise couldn’t win a toss of a coin! Jerry is over here as the 49ers will be at Wembley on Sunday playing against another under-performing team, the Denver Broncos. Jerry was charming and won the presenters over with his words. He will be the 49ers talisman on Sunday and he is held in such affection that the 80,000 plus Wembley crowd will give him a standing ovation as he walks on to the pitch.

Then come to A P McCoy, they have run out of superlatives in the dictionary to use, yesterday he gave another masterful performance, achieving an impossible victory as his mount Drill Sergeant slowed to a canter after being clear then letting the whole field pass. To add to the drama the horse was favourite. On Betfair he was laid at 119-1, anyone other than McCoy I’m sure that would have been 999-1. Now I receive between 100 and 200 emails a day but what worried me was last night by ten o’clock only two were asking to replay the race on Channel 4 on Saturday. Disappointed is an understatement, it is simply awful, that figure should have been two hundred!!!!! If he is going to win Sports Personality Of The Year the requests needed to be more than TWO! Less of the apathy, come on time to rally round and ready yourselves for December 19.

The Jockeys’ Title dominates with now just ten days to go. I’m trying not to let that distract while studying form on the flat. This evening at Wolverhampton with trainer Ralph Beckett in form Matilda’s Waltz would be a selection at 7:50.

Stratford and all eyes will be on Tell Massini, it is no easy task as Triggerman has proved a great yardstick, he was an exciting hurdler here’s hoping the transition to the bigger obstacles is a smooth one. This time at Fontwell I fancy another Donald McCain double with Panzer at 4:00 and Cinders And Ashes at 5:00.

    POINTERS

Paul Nicholls has had four winners from his last five runners

Ralph Beckett has had five winners from his last 13 runners

Frankie Dettori has had four winners and three seconds from his last 13 runners

A P McCoy has had 7 winners from his last 19 rides

Harry Up is attempting his 11th course win at Wolverhampton this evening at 5.20
