Lingfield passed their inspection this morning proving the thaw has really begun. There is hope too for Cheltenham towards the end of the week as they managed to get the covers down yesterday as temperatures touched above freezing.
Southwell sees A P McCoy in action today which means he misses the HWPA Awards in London where I’m sure he’ll be recognised with many accolades. A full report will appear here tomorrow. The better half is hosting a table so he’s sure to tell me all the goings on. ’s Nick Luck is odds-on to pick-up the Broadcaster of the Year and Brough Scott is a very short price to win Journalist of the Year.
Just looked up at the television and the weather forecaster is giving more bad news, constant freezing temperatures. Still through the night and earlier this morning had the cricket on. The Ashes will always entertain but the pendulum is weighted in England’s favour this series as Australia continue to lack a bowling attack even if Hilfenhaus comes back for the third test. Unfortunate for the Aussies they lost Michael Clarke on the very last ball of today’s play.
I’m having a bad run on the all weather so my only selections today are Southwell’s 12:50 Yossi, Southwell’s 1:50 It’s A Mans World. Tevez scored for Man City at the weekend and his equine equivalent can score in Lingfield’s 1:30.
