Tanya's Blog - 6th January 2011 Great, Huntingdon’s on, started checking out the exchanges just a few minutes ago, as is sensible and normally proved when there is doubt surrounding a meeting the turnover is light and builds up gradually once the green light is given. With that in mind I was surprised to see the first evidence of positives on Betfair at Huntingdon, 1.10 Pepite Rose, 2.10 Cucumber Run is odds-on, 4-5, even High Benefit is only 10-3, 3.10 Kartanian 2-1 and 3.40 Ericht is also odds-on, 4-5. Throughout the day watch out for any diversion from these current prices. Yesterday I can’t believe, well I can; the way I managed to tip two short-priced Henderson/McCoy runners at Southwell and get them beat. Lack of concentration and not studying enough, so apologies on my behalf. No sleep courtesy of the cricket hasn’t helped, Sussex has joined Iceland in the county of the midnight sun! There is also South Africa v India and now New Zealand v Pakistan. As a conditional I like John Kington and would love to see Jug Of Punch give him a good run in Huntingdon’s 12.40 but I can’t tip on sentiment. My first selection is Looks Like Slim in the 1.10, who for me ran a very promising race at Newbury on debut. The ground may not be soft enough for Pepite Rose and other runners have tall reputations to maintain. Where Looks Like Slim performed with credit when totally unconsidered last time, plus the price will mean he is each-way value. I will either lay Cucumber Run or back High Benefit, haven’t decided as yet but if High Benefit was joint-favourite with Backspin at Bangor before falling, his credentials theoretically are better. Can’t believe the extent of the gamble on Summery Justice in the Welsh National, I have had a quick glance at the form and he wasn’t one that sprung to mind immediately. Still let you into my selection for that race on Saturday.
POINTERS Sir Mark Prescott has had three winners from his last five runners
Kevin Ryan has had four winners and a second from his last ten runners
Gary Moore has had four winners and two thirds from his last eleven runners
Nicky Henderson has had nine winners from his last 33 Huntingdon runners
Jason Maguire has had eight winners from his last 24 runners
Graham Gibbons has had five winners from his last 11 runners
