    Tanya's Blog - 12th January 2011

Forgive me for the late posting, but you know me whenever cricket is on, especially Twenty20 I am easily distracted. Also will it ever stop raining!? This morning I thought I would be better off driving the Lotus from the ‘Spy Who Loved Me’ which converted into a mini sub the amount of spray there was on the motorway and what a coincidence when at the same time they announced Daniel Craig will be filming the 23rd Bond movie in readiness for next year.

More and more people in the office have been to see The King’s Speech and it seems to me that Colin Firth on their recommendations is a shoe-in for the Oscars. No one was impressed that I’ve seen It’s Kind Of A Funny Story and Last Three Days.

Rain is still falling now and I’m mindful how close the office that I work in is to Kempton Park, even by that course well draining standards its absorption threshold must be put to the sternest test. As always I digress, on to today, but don’t go ploughing into my selections as I have been so distracted by the cricket.

Checking out the betting markets there seems to be a move for Burnt Oak in the 2.50 around 25-1 into 9-1 which is worth watching. Then I want to be on Adams Island at 2.15 as he was third to Wymott at Exeter and that horse is my RSA Chase selection. The On Borrowed Wings form doesn’t look the greatest to me either so I will be opposing him. Finally there is some momentum behind Hinton Indiana in the Doncaster 3.55 so I will be watching him carefully also.

    POINTERS

Bryan Smart to define his form even further than the brilliant Signposts (which must always be looked at in the Racing Post) the trainer has had five winners, two seconds and a third from his last ten runners

Nicky Henderson has had nine winners from his last 18 runners

A P McCoy has had seven winners from his last 16 runners

Barry Geraghty has had six winners from his last 13 rides for Nicky Henderson
