Captain's Blog - 1st February 2011

I am in the Studio today to present all the action from Pau. Claude Charlet will be my guest and I am looking forward to his company from 11.30am. An early start for us on and yours truly needs to get a move on in order to get to the studio in good time to read my Paris Match. I always enjoy working with Monsieur Charlet, it is always fun and I would be delighted if you would join us.

I cannot hide from the fact that my tipping record in January was awful. I had an absolute nightmare in truth and I will be looking to turn things around now a new month has begun. I can make excuses about my record in January but excuses do not cut it when it comes to wagering cold hard cash and I need to show dramatic improvement this month. I do take my tipping here on the blog seriously and it hurts when I go on a losing run. Chin up though I guess now and time to move on.

The transfer window made for some great stories yesterday and the move of Torres to Chelsea was the most sensational of all. Torres will be a massive loss to Liverpool and to replace him with Andy Carroll is hardly swapping like for like. Torres is world class whereas Carroll is a one trick pony who will struggle to ever be anywhere near as good as his Spanish counterpart. In an ironic twist Chelsea will host Liverpool on Sunday and Torres may well start for Chelsea, how weird!

Sorry about the brevity of the blog today, but I really do need to get a move on and get to work. Have a great day.
