    Tanya's Blog - 5th February 2011

A huge sigh of relief in this quarter when WYMOTT won at Bangor at yesterday, now all roads lead to the RSA Chase and my fingers are tightly crossed. As I type, the Morning Line set is being dismantled around me, but is no real distraction. Alastair Down is also in the paddock commentary box starting to manicure those wonderful words which will be heard this afternoon and written in the News of the World tomorrow.

A hectic few hours in the betting sphere from 7pm last night ahead of today’s racing at Sandown has captured our imagination. What a shame though not many horses outside Pricewise are being backed. A couple of interest are, Kilcrea Kim at 3.00 and Aimigayle at 3.35. I’m gutted as I had originally put up William Hogarth in the Daily Record column and had to do an enormous about turn at midday yesterday when he was withdrawn. It is not a race I want to be with through Mister Hyde or Lush Life and maybe come 3.00 I will be well and truly put in my place. Instead I like ALFIE SPINNER who has put up two solid performances at Exeter and Warwick.

Jim McGrath’s just arrived and both he and Alastair have positive things to say about Royals Charter, another of Nick Williams’ runners later on the Sandown card. Add to that Templegate – Steve Jones in the Sun put him up as his nap, so he’s well worth looking out for.

My other picks are BURREN LEGEND, purely speculative as Richard Rowe’s horses have been going so well and he ran his best race of his career when sixth in the 2008 Bet365 Gold Cup. Alan King gave a good mention to CALL ME A LEGEND in his Weekender column.
