Captain's Blog - 17th February 2011 I am late on parade today folks on account of being up half the night with a cranky six week old. She is sleeping beautifully now but her timing is not good. At least she is ok and that is the main thing, now I need to ready myself for a day in the studio covering the action from Meydan and I am delighted to say that my guest for the gig will be James Willoughby. It is a fair while since we worked together and I am looking forward to spending the afternoon with him. He will of course be a little ring rusty having been away from the broadcasting scene for a while but it will not take him long before he is hard into the bridle and travelling strongly. Join us form 2.00pm whence the programme begins. We managed to bag an 11/4 winner here on ther blog yesterday in the shape of Mr Green which was a relief and I am beginning to slowly regain my confidence after a period in the doldrums. More of the same would be nice today and there certainly are plenty of opportunities at Meydan today for winner finding. It is of course the Al Fahidi Fort today which is always a favourite race of mine. The line up is as good as ever and the Mile De Kock trained Raihana looks to be the one to be on. She was impressive last time out and the imperious Soumillon on aboard. At anything around about the 3/1 mark she represents decent value. Sorry that this is a bit on the short side today but I am badly fighting the clock and need to get to the studio to get ready for today. All the best.
Today’s Selection 5:35 Meydan - Raihana
