    Angus McNae

    Captain's Blog - 29th March 2011

Our each way selection finished second yesterday at 7/1 to give us a minor profit on the day and to start the week on a positive note. By and large the month has been a good one and thanks to Buena Vista and Sizing Europe at Cheltenham we are in a good place for the month. The pressure is still on though and hopefully we can bag a couple of winners before the month is out.

I hope you enjoyed the French action from St Cloud yesterday where I think we saw a filly that is very much worth following. She is called Alkania and is trained by the Little General Andre Fabre. She finished second yesterday on her debut under tender handling from Maxime Guyon. She was very green and was easily the best horse in the race indeed she would have won under a more forceful ride, but this experience will be put to good use soon. She is a daughter of Dalakhani out of a Diesis mare and is potentially very smart.

I wonder if that filly will be one of the horse that features in our flat season preview today on ? Nick Luck is hosting the show and the expert analysis will be provided by Mark Howard and Steve Mellish. Catch the team and their take on the forthcoming flat season at 12.00. I am sure you will enjoy this preview and it really is a must watch this afternoon.

I have a few days off now and will be spending some quality time with my family before returning to the fray on Saturday. I have no set plans for the next few days except to get out for a run this afternoon if the weather allows. Any rain would see me wimp out and go to the gym instead, but in all honesty I would rather get outside and get some fresh air.

I hope you have a successful day and find a few winners. I will be back tomorrow with a few thoughts about the upcoming Aintree meeting. Have a good day.
