Tanya's Blog - 14th April 2011 Newmarket yesterday further confirmed the top class status Richard Fahey belongs in as a trainer, four winners from his last six runners including Sir Reginald and Barefoot Lady (Nell Gywn victory). Paul Hanagan and Richard Fahey are worth watching at Beverley today. At least Sir Reginald obliged for the blog as I hit more crossbars than Spurs did last night. Pricewise may well be Ransom Note, which will hopefully make the price for my selection FORTE DEI MARMI. I read Luca Cumani his trainer believes he can be as good as Presvis, now there’s a compliment. It only bolsters my thoughts of his chances today. Although I have tipped SOCIETY ROCK in the Newmarket racecard at 3.00, there is something nagging at me more than my Mother that HIMALYA has a chance. You have to win twice with him as he’s an impossible ride having to be produced at the last minute and weaved through the field. No doubt he’ll meet more traffic than my three hour delay on the M11 yesterday but it might help him to be produced right on the line. I’ve gone for TOGETHER in Newmarket’s 3.00 and didn’t think Sing Softly ran too badly yesterday so Aidan O’Brien’s runners are sharp. All I did learn from the Nell Gwyn is no Newmarket 1000 Guineas winner is amongst them. Just one speculative selection at Cheltenham in DANTARI, there is method behind my madness and reasoning. He led some really competitive handicap hurdles including the Coral Cup for most of the race and yet instead of fading to be pulled up, he kept on when passed by the main protagonists. I thought he’d head to Aintree but instead Cheltenham is his destination and this time I can see him leading all the way and he’s worth a chance at around 14-1 or more.
