    Tanya's Blog - 28th April 2011

Since I last posted a blog it seems Royal Wedding fever has taken over, apologies but I will be immersing myself in the complications of trying to write further blogs and columns tomorrow and what outfits will be worn don’t even cross my radar. Easter has come and gone and it was easier to find non-fattening chocolate eggs than it was tipping winners, so sorry for that.

When it comes to the Qipco 1000 Guineas, like Sherlock Holmes I think I have unearthed a clue. I sense the French are very confident in the belief that they will be taking back the Classic. Now Rimth won’t be running I am only left with Hooray on my side, so I need another horse in the 1000 Guineas and I suggest you take a closer look at Nova Hawk. She improved immensely in her latest run, I know the French press rooms are buzzing with her run and are as confident with her as they are with the favourite Moonlight Cloud. However I can’t stress enough be careful if you bet on the Tote on course or in the pool via a shop or internet. France, yes the whole country can bet into the pool at Newmarket, and they did to some effect last year, the winning dividends were much shorter than starting price. Back French horses with your bookmaker. Yet, there is a positive, wherever there are French runners the dividends of the British runners should be bigger.

The meeting at Perth looks a cracker as always and I’m going for Door Boy in the 3.50. He ran well behind Watch My Back at Ayr and I rate Paul Gallagher very highly, he won’t be claiming the five pounds allowance for too much longer. Then it could well be worth siding with Tyup Pompey for a quick hat-trick in Hereford’s 4:30.

Only a couple of selections today, got to build up the strength a massive weekend ahead.

    POINTERS

John Best has had four winners and a second from his last six runners

Colin Tizzard has had five winners and two seconds from his last 12 runners, no surprise then Colin’s son Joe is a rider in form

Jim Best trips to Hereford from Sussex have certainly be worthwhile with six winners from his last nine runners

Hayley Turner has had four winners from her last ten rides

Venetia Williams has won Perth’s 2.20 three times with just her last four runners
