    Tanya's Blog - 15th February 2012

Treacle 10st 8lb, how sweet is that? Mentioned in the blog yesterday as the only horse I was interested in when going to the Grand National weights, I see today he is the subject of Pricewise! Hope you are all on already!

What a fabulous afternoon, mixing with all the great trainers. Each table is named after Grand National winners. What a draw I had, sat on the table named after Ballabriggs, I joined Trevor Hemmings, Julian Thick, Paul Bittar, Kate Hills, Rishi Persad, Malcolm Jefferson and Donald McCain, and we had a total laugh.

As for my news, I can tell you the owners of Niche Market fancy their chances once more, Tim Vaughan was hoping Postmaster would join Tartak and Stewarts House, who will run at the Cheltenham Festival, in the line-up.

Ferdy Murphy was very pleased with De Boitron’s run at Musselburgh on Saturday and he’ll be at the Cheltenham Festival alongside Kalahari King who’ll run at Doncaster on March 3.
Alan King confirmed Fire Fighter could run at Sandown on Friday; he is one of my picks for the novice hurdles at the Festival.

Finally when will we see Ballabriggs next? Well at Kelso on March 3. Kelso has a big day today. RIGUEZ DANCER was my selection in the SkyBet Chase and I was bitterly disappointed with the way he ran considering his previous effort at Musselburgh, perhaps he was given too much to do or perhaps he made one jumping error too many, but I’d thought he run better than sixth. Moan over, and it is with hope that I look to Riguez Dancer in Kelso’s 3.10 - a better run expected.

I see Simonsig is odds-on in the 3.40 at Kelso. Now that is one horse I would love to take on against the likes of Marsh Warbler, Knockara Beau and indeed Orsippus, all hardened competitors in the highest of classes and all come right at this time of the year.
