Angus McNae

Captain's Blog - Friday 9th November

Seventeen runners and two winners was the final score at Meydan yesterday for the double A, otherwise known as Ali Al Raihe. He also had a number of placed horses as well. You would not have quite shown a level stake profit if you had backed all of his horses, but given that he narrowly missed out on a 20/1 winner you would have had some excitement along the way. The double A is certainly a man to keep an eye on in the UAE over the next few weeks.

I was disappointed with my selection yesterday. Quite simply Stormy Morning did not jump well enough and his jockey was keen to give the outside to nobody. Having said that, the horse was probably not fast enough.

Time to move on and, as far as today is concerned, I am hoping that Dannanceys Hill can win the 2.20 at Musselburgh. He will not be a decent price, but in a weak maiden hurdle and hailing from the Donald McCain yard he will take all the beating.

A short blog today folks, but I will be back with vengeance tomorrow.

All the best.

Today's selection:

2.20 Musselburgh - Dannanceys Hill (5/6 bet365)
