Captain's Blog - Tuesday 13th November A short-priced winner yesterday has got the week off to a steady start. With a bit of luck we can build to a crescendo at the weekend, when the Open Meeting at Cheltenham takes centre stage on . Talking of building to a climax the darts boys are warming up for the World Championships in the Grand Slam of Darts at Wolverhampton this week. Phil Taylor is looking imperious as ever with two wins under the belt already, but it is clear that the gap between him and many others has narrowed considerably. He is now no longer a shoo-in for these tournaments that he used to be a few years ago. He is still as good as ever, but the other players have definitely raised their game and in so doing do not fear him as much as they used to. I would love it if he could win the World Championship again. He says that he is timing his effort to peak at the big one. Ever the perfectionist he believes he has peaked too soon in the last couple of years, and if he gets it right we may all be walking in a Taylor Wonderland come the final in early January next year. My selection today is Elenika in the 2.40 at Huntingdon. This is Ruby Walsh's only ride at the meeting and Elenika's first run in this country. This horse has some decent form in France and now with Paul Nicholls is open to bags of improvement. For a four-year-old he has plenty of jumping experience already and on his latest start he was second in a Listed race at Auteuil. He was beaten a long way, but even a repeat of that form makes him tough to beat here and he may well have come on a lot since then. He can put his experience to good use and should be shorter than his already cramped odds. Watch it live on . Let's hope we can double up from yesterday and keep accumulating those units for the weekend.
Today's tip: 2.40 at Huntingdon: Elenika (1.95 Betfair)
